The Essentials that All Campers Should Have

There are basic items that we should always bring with us when we leave the house, “essentials”. The reason they are called essentials, is because they are just that: essential. Simply leaving the house, we usually have a cell phone, keys, and some form of money. As running out to do an errand across town requires specific and necessary items, camping does as well, only each requires different things for different purposes. There are many items you should be acquainted with for the interior and exterior of your camper so that you can plan accordingly. (more…)

Beginner Camping Tips

Even the most seasoned of campers was once a beginner. Face it, we all have to learn sometime. So, we have put together these useful tips so that a beginner camper can come up the learning curve a little faster. Maybe this information will help you to avoid some painful experiences, and better enjoy your first few camping trips to the great outdoors.

Make, Use, and Maintain a Camping Checklist
By making and using a camping checklist you have at least given some thought to your trip and done a little bit of upfront planning. By using the list you will be much less apt to forget something critical to your trip. Take the list along with you and add to it as you think of things that you wished you had brought. This way your list gets better with each trip, and it makes it that much easier to plan the next one. (more…)

Camping Checklist

Last time I went camping, I wish I had been more resourceful to “spice up” the most exciting adventure I have experienced during my stay at one of the best camping facilities I have ever visited; that of a sandy beach. Although I always leave my house to go camping after checking everything from my list of things I wanted to take and I make sure that my car gas will last for at least some considerable part of the journey, I prefer while being at the camping spot of my choice, not to do plan or schedule anything. Just do whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it. (more…)

Benefits of Having Camping Mattress

There is something about these camps that simply revolts everyone – the uncomfortable sleeping conditions. For some they are the deciding factor, important enough to disuade them from the whole affair of being united with nature for a week. Sleeping in bags can be a hideous thing, it causes back aches, neck aches, let alone the fact that those bags keep slipping so that you spend the whole night being partly uncovered. The second option may be a camping bad: an opportunity, which means that you have to drag the bed to the camp, it takes a lot of space, and may be really heavy. The third option is to have a camping mattress with you. (more…)

Camping is a very popular pastime for many. The opportunity to get away from the daily grind and enjoy a few days in nature draws many people to this activity. Although camping can be a welcomed relief from a hectic lifestyle it is not an activity which is completely without stress. Much of the stress in camping stems from the process of planning the trip. Camping Checklist and Camping Essentials by LJ Stewart

One of the most difficult things about getting ready for camping is getting organized a remember all that gear to bring. I have been using this list for over 15 years- modifying it slightly here and there. Its amazing how little camping has changed. Even when you add children to the mix the stuff to bring doesn’t change all that much. Over the years we have found that it is actually easier to keep most of this packed up and set aside for camping. So we have a bin filled with things like table cloth for picnic table, tablecloth clamps, can opener, corkscrew, cutlery, etc. Everything we need is there and we don’t have to worry about packing. Most these I picked up at garage sales or dollar store. (more…)
